Translate industrial ecology theories into practices

We must turn industrial ecology theory into an operational checklist for the plant retrofit team. Translate the theory notes into a spreadsheet that lists suggested interventions, expected material flow changes, estimated costs, and the team owner for each line. Send it to Javier in sustainability and to the plant manager for review, but check that each intervention has at least one measurable metric before sending, deadline Wednesday.

Before I show this to the plant manager, make the proposals easy to evaluate: surface the interventions with the highest expected reduction in virgin material up top, make the cost per ton saved findable, flag proposals that require new permits or cross-department sign-off, and include a brief note on each assumption that would make a reviewer hesitate.

I translated circular-economy ideas into 20 interventions for the plant retrofit, but six proposals lack clear metrics, and two depend on a supplier change I cannot promise. I cannot tell which of these to prioritize for the manager’s review and which to drop. Should I present them all with caveats, remove the supplier-dependent options until confirmed, or run a quick sensitivity to estimate impact ranges? What will the plant manager likely prefer?

Across retrofit projects I repeatedly waste time polishing interventions that get sent back for missing metrics or hidden dependencies on suppliers and permits. I need a single framing habit so my first submission is review-ready and not shot down for avoidable reasons. What checklist or template change will stop the back-and-forth?
