Plan and coordinate planting, fertilizing, and harvesting

Create a seasonal operations calendar for planting, fertilizing and harvesting for the community garden plots 1–12. Show crop, recommended planting date, fertilizer type and rate, expected harvest window, labour needed per week, and harvest bin assignment. Include entries for tomatoes, kale, sweet potato, climbing beans and sunflowers and sort by planting date.

Before I print this for field crews, make it easier to follow: bring the next two upcoming actions to the top, add a one-line reason why the action is urgent (weather window, soil temp), and flag any plot where fertilizer type conflicts with organic certification so the crew can raise it immediately.

Our supplier called: the organic granular fertilizer we scheduled for plots 3–6 is out for three weeks. Ben, the field lead, will defer planting unless I find a substitute; I worry swapping fertilizer changes certification status. I don’t know whether to delay planting, use a different approved fertilizer, or reassign crops. Recommend the best next move, any quick checks I must make about certification, and the one sentence I should tell Ben to keep him calm and actionable.

Every season we scramble because procurement and the field team pick fertilizers ad hoc and planting dates shift with small supplier issues. Propose one durable change: a simple rule for holding a two-week buffer stock or approved substitutes, who owns maintaining it, and a weekly checklist item that would stop last-minute reassignments and lost harvests.
