What is a Trace Evidence Analyst?
Trace Evidence Analysts examine microscopic materials transferred during a crime, such as fibers, hair, paint, glass, and soil. You balance bench work and occasional scene visits: photograph and collect trace samples, prepare mounts, run microscopes, SEM‑EDS or FTIR, and compare questioned materials to controls.
