What is a Reliability Engineer?

Reliability Engineers focus on predicting and preventing product failures. They analyze design specifications, conduct rigorous testing, and use statistical methods to assess product reliability. They collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to improve product robustness and ensure long-term performance, ultimately minimizing downtime and warranty costs.

You alternate between data and the factory floor: analyzing forecasting, procurement, and inventory data; running time studies and flow-path or zero-base analyses; developing KPIs and modeling facility layouts; touring plants and interviewing staff to surface real constraints.
