What is a SOC Analyst?

SOC Analyst secures Analyze information and generate insights.. You test systems, identify vulnerabilities, and design protections against attacks. The work blends analysis, tooling, and policy.

A SOC analyst spends shifts monitoring alerts, updating protections, and running risk assessments. You isolate affected hosts, modify security files to change access, and coordinate with teams to apply firewall and encryption controls. Between incidents you tune detection, document procedures, and train users on security hygiene. Work is often indoors at a console, switching between solo log analysis and face-to-face coordination as incidents require.
