What is a Digital Forensics Analyst?

Digital Forensics Analysts investigate digital evidence to uncover facts related to cybercrimes, security breaches, or internal policy violations. They meticulously collect, preserve, and analyze data from computers, mobile devices, and networks to reconstruct events and identify perpetrators.

You spend shifts imaging drives, collecting volatile RAM and network captures, documenting chain-of-custody, and running scripted artifact extractions. Work alternates between deep artifact analysis, decrypting or carving files, and preparing reproducible reports.
