What is a Prompt Engineer?

Prompt Engineer builds Design and build solutions in the field.. You design software, write code, and ship features that solve real problems. The work blends logic, testing, and iteration to deliver reliable products.

A prompt engineer spends the day designing and testing prompts and few-shot examples, running prompt experiments, reproducing and debugging failure cases, and documenting inputs with evaluation metrics. They iterate on prompt wording to balance latency, cost, helpfulness, and safety, instrument representative prompt sets for measurement, and coordinate with engineering to deploy prompt changes or propose retraining when needed.
